I am is like a combination of Illmatic and It was Written. On his first 3 Albums, Nas was very consistent. He’s a great storyteller and that’s still present here. He has alot of interesting songs, song that make you think, songs that paint a picture and allow you to understand who Nas is, and he showed growth as an artist from his first joint to his 3rd. This album is reflective of the essence of Hip-Hop, it’s hard to even choose a favorite song from this album because no song is skippable. The songs that I love on this album are all so very good. My favorite version of N.Y. State of Mind is on this album, Hate Me Now and Nas is like on this album. Nas is Like is one of the greatest lyrical displays i’ve heard from Nas. This is one of those pieces that can be like a blueprint for what a rap album is supposed to be.

  • Amazing tracks. The same great production from the last two albums with a few newcomers.
  • This is one of the few hip-hop albums that extract an emotional response from me, songs like Hate Me Now get me excited.

  • Nothing Particular

I give this album a
